SuperSupra
Hey folks, I've just noticed something the last couple of days. When driving very slowly, turning on full lock, either way (doing a 3 point turn for example), my wheels make a funny sound like they are rubbing against something, it almost sounds like I'm going over small bumps in the road. I've not noticed this before, not sure whether it's just something I've just simply - not noticed before! I'm running 18" rims which are obviously bigger than standard so could this be the reason - rubbing against arches perhaps? Anyone else have this issue? Nic
If it is lowered wih 18's then it's probably the tyres rubbing on the plastic inside the wheel arches, raising the height a bit will stop it rubbing.

SuperSupra
Hmmm, possibly. Not sure how though, maybe the suspension sits slightly lower when it gets very cold? Not sure how though, is this possible? Seems strange we have both had this problem in the last few days when it's REALLY cold!

JIMBOW1
could it poss be your drive shafts boot is split and you have a dry joint???
SimonB
It's just the front tyres scrubbing across the ground before they rotate as they are pushed from behind, nothing to worry about. It's just the results of having wide front tyres and the Supras normal suspension set up with a bit of negative camber. All Supras will do it to some extent. JonW
Is this definitely nothing to worry about, I've just started having this problem as well. It feels like something is slipping almost like the front wheels drop in to a small pot hole!!! Only seems to happen in reverse!!!
Ewen
Absolutely certain its due to extremely cold (and therefore harder) tyres on a morning, full lock on a wet slippery road makes them 'jump' rather than 'scrub' as they do when its warmer...worse if lowered

Your suspension will be higher in the cold and lower in the warm weather due to the springs being softer due to the heat
Ian C
If you reverse at full lock and get a serious clunk, get your suspension bolts tightened... Yes it can feel like a pothole, and it kicks back through the steering. -Ian
