Surely the owner must have noticed something was up though? I mean, if you paid someone to come and fit a washing machine and you ended up with something that incinerated your clothes and flooded your kitchen, you wouldn't go "oh, well done chap, here's your money", then think about getting a second opinion two weeks later . . .
