Jake
My Mrs' has a Freelander which has an electris rear window. When you open the rear door the window automatically winds down about 10mm before the door opens. I'm not sure why it's designed like this, but anyway. Now, with the current cold weather the window is always getting frozen up which means there's no way to open the rear door. This is quite a problem when you're in the middle of nowhere with a wet and muddy 12 stone Great Dane. I suppose she just needs to start carrying a can of deicer. Any other bright ideas? Bill Prawn
Try smearing Vaseline around the top of the window and the seal of the door.
Jake
I'll give it a try. Thanks Tim

michael
Vaseline will rot the rubber over time, halfords do a silicon lubricant spray that's a lot better for them and does the same job.

Aerotop Dave
If the feature is so redundant would a visit to a Freelander forum throw up a method of just disconnecting the motor?
Jake
Freelander forum? It honestly hadn't occured to me that such a thing existed. I don't want to disconnect the motor though. It's nice to be able to lower the rear window. Mac seems to like hanging his head out the back of the car when were driving along. He's surprised a few bikers too. mrdsukautos
Good idea to do all the door rubbers as well with the silicon spray Im sure we have all been locked out of our car because of the door icing up at some time. Or is it just in Scotland this happens due to the exceedingly cold weather we get?
