Stopping window freezing up?

My Mrs' has a Freelander which has an electris rear window. When you open the rear door the window automatically winds down about 10mm before the door opens. I'm not sure why it's designed like this, but anyway.

Now, with the current cold weather the window is always getting frozen up which means there's no way to open the rear door. This is quite a problem when you're in the middle of nowhere with a wet and muddy 12 stone Great Dane.

I suppose she just needs to start carrying a can of deicer. Any other bright ideas?

Freelander forum? It honestly hadn't occured to me that such a thing existed.

I don't want to disconnect the motor though. It's nice to be able to lower the rear window. Mac seems to like hanging his head out the back of the car when were driving along. He's surprised a few bikers too.
