Am I talking out of my arse?

Had a thought last night regarding induction kits. Recently I fitted an Apexi Induction filter to by NA. Problem is that it pulls in the air from basically inside the engine bay. My thinking is, is it possible to build an enclosure for the filter and run piping from the air con and fill the enclosure with nice ice cold air controlled from in the car. This way the filter will be drawing in nice cold air which I hear is much much better. Only problem is would the benefit be 0 because when the air con goes on you lose power but will it be made up by the increase of cold air being drawn in. Am I taking complete shit or does this sound half logical? I know I could just reroute the filter to draw air in from the outside but I figure the loss in an indirect air flow would reduce power as well and also I think the air con would be much colder than the outside air.

Have to agree with the others. I have however looked at freezing the IC pipe to the throttle body in an attempt to dramatically bring down charge temps. Down side is the bottles are very expensive & don't last long. Get a nice big FMIC.

but if you owned a Turbo then surely it would work a little bit? You wouldn't just have a sealed box with a pipe in from the A/C. You would have say, a cold air box, a feed from the A/C and a feed from the bumper. Would that not be better as it would be putting in colder air aswell as what would normally be going in?

Then again isn't the air from outside cool enough? We are in England!!!!! Nahh, bad idea :twak:
