Green Peace
I'm about to embark on restoring my Calipers...painting them with heat resistant paint and hopefully getting hold of the Supra transfer stickers! I have searched the BBS but can't find info I want. Where do I get the Supra stickers from and how much etc ? Also if anyone has any tips please let me know! Cheers Si

Gordon F
I re-furbed a set a couple of months ago. I had the calipers bead-blasted, painted them with black heat resistant paint, and rebuilt them using Toyota caliper repair kits. In them, you get all the piston seals, boots and spings, new bleed nipples and boots, and the copper washers for the brake lines. I do silver caliper stickers if you want some @ £10 - p&p free . Send a PM if you want some. Mine came out like this (Thanks Peter - glad you liked them!)

terawua
yeah I got the part number of http://www.carfiche.com - very useful, and the guy ar Mr T was helpful too.... front and rear seals kit was 56 quid or something.... well worth it as when I took my brakes apart two of the pistons were very stiff indeed, now they are all smooth and lurvelee (sorry been reading Max Power again)

Bobbeh
Why the brembo stickers? are you using the pads? I hope you're not being a rice boy
Steve
What paint do people recommend? Would have thought that spray would be easier and go on nicer. Where did you get it from? Halfrauds???? Thanks
terawua
bobbeh... thats what my cousin said....'you ricer boy'! The thing is.... the calipers actually are big enough to carry it off, plus with the slotted rotors looks pretty nice actually. Anyway if I am a ricer, to is TRD3000GT - he was the one who sold me the brembo decals!
terawua
If anyone lives in Kent, there is a company called cray metal finishers, who shot blasted and powder coated mine for 50 quid..... the finish was lovely. The only thing was.. that I had to mask off the screw threads and pistons myself to get them done for that price.
terawua
oh and chris wilson says you can pretty much just use any automotive spray paint, as it will do the job just fine - just make sure not to get brake fluid on them afterwards
suprabrown
I'm going to send mine off to GVN Coachworks in the next couple of weeks. I spoke to Vincent there, he says about £100 to £150 plus one week should see the calipers restored I'll post some pics when they are done, might be worth calling them? cheers mark
Sharpie
Smarty, I too got mine beadblasted and then painted them with some a Foliatec kit from Halfrauds, they work a treat. I then added the ali stickers and then used some SP-115 as the top clear coat https://www.usautomotive.co.uk/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=221 Here are a few pic's

Sounds like you're both a couple of ricers then Dunno why you need to try and knock them off as Brembos, they perform just as well/if not better. Just for gods sake dont go putting aston martin stickers on your Supra!
terawua
well, the next project is a set of custom hats to match up to a set of huge 356 two piece rotors - then perhaps they can carry off the brembo ruse... anyway they look a lot better than this before... terawua
well, as I have now done one, I can honestly say its not too scary doing them, but do get them shot blasted if they look like mine did- I knackered two wire wooling attachments for not much progress trying to do it myself.... they cleaned up so nicely and quickly with a blast, and the powder coating really made them look totally brand new. I really think taking the opportunity to rebuild your calipers while the are off the car is well worth it- mine work so much better now with decent (new) fluid and braided lines.
