bradleyn
Guys, I'm a Honda Prelude driver looking for a move to the TT Supra. There's a guy selling a 1998 Toyota Supra here in Ireland. In the add he claims that the car has a 450BHP Recaro Sports Pack on it. Anyone know anything about these kits ? I've never heard of them. I thought Recaro only made seats. Thanks Noel Bradley
Adam W
Recaro do only make seats, he's talking bollocks! Looks like you found us just in time He will have had to spend some serious money to get 450bhp so treat with extreme scepticism. No way can you do that without changing the turbos and probably the fuel injectors as well, so ask some pointed questions about what he has done to them and ask to see receipts. I'm not saying its a bad car, just that it's highly likely that that is an exaggerated power claim. People seem to think that you just change the exhaust on a Supra (or a Skyline) and you double the horsepower, sadly its not that easy!
TOKYO
In the add he claims that the car has a 450BHP Recaro Sports Pack on it. Yes it is lucky you found these guys. And I'm a Skyliner . Glen

bradleyn
Thanks Adam. I did think it sounded like complete toss when I read it first but thought it wise to run it by you guys anyway. I'll give him a bell and get more details. Maybe the muppet thinks that adding a Recaro seat has gained him 130bhp. Noel
Paul Laing
Saying that Michel on here got 517bhp on the rolling road and he's got standard Turbo's on his. So this lad selling could be telling the truth. Paul
Adam W
Without wishing to start any arguments, I would like to point out to our new member that Michels cars is very much an exception rather than a good indication of what is normally seen from cars with that level of mods. bradleyn
Hmmm....initial skepticism has given way to general interest. Just spoke to the guy, trying to sell it as he's bought a Porsche 911 Turbo. He hasn't driven it for a year and has it garaged. I'm getting him to fax me details of the full spec which I'll post when I get it. Says he has full details of all mods. Interestingly enough he says he insured it as a stock TT even with all the mods. I don't know if many of you guys have done this but it sounds a bit dodgy to me. OK if you don't crash but if you do you could be in real cack. Anyway, that's probably for another thread on another day. He says it was modified by Parklane Motors in the UK and this is where he bought it. Claims it's a showcar and that's how it's only got 25,000 miles on it. Here's what I know so far: 1998 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo VVTi 3-Litre Twin Turbo Silver 25,000 miles. 6-speed Manual HKS Stainless Steel Exhaust Recaro seats (I tried not to laugh when he said this) I'll let you guys know more details when I get them. 400BHP
Dont Recaro's now come with a new set of KKK turbos and a 170BHP NOS system? I'm sure I saw that in Fast Ford...
Guest Terry S
Park Lane were an HKS distributor, so it may have so nice bits hidden away.

Don't forget that is per seat. Some of the Lax Power boys can only afford to do one seat at a time.
Paul Laing
didn't the new Recaro's have jets inside them?
