SuperSupra
How come nobody has ever mentioned these things? I stuck one on mine and I like it. Is it cos nobody likes the effect it gives? Or is it cos nobody knew about them (i find this one hard to believe!)? It's a good way to block the space left by the old stereo! What do we think - yey or nay? Blanking Plate Pic 1 Blanking Plate Pic 2 p.s. yes I have put a little blue neon behind it cos I like them (some of them!)
Jake
Because most of us find a cubby hole/pocket thing more useful?
RedM
I like that. Where would one get them from?
SuperSupra
Because most of us find a cubby hole/pocket thing more useful? Hmmm, I had one of those 'universal' cd holder things and to be honest i couldn't stand the look of it. It also proved to be more of a hindrance when changing the stereo! Fair point though, my CD's usually get chucked on the back seat!
SuperSupra
I like that. Where would one get them from? I got mine off Ebay ages ago, only got round to putting it in at the weekend though. I'll try and dig out the link for you mate.

Here you go mate, I'm pretty sure this is where I got it from, there are none for a Supra on Ebay now, but I'm sure this person has regular stocks: Supra Blanking Plate Seller Just click on "ask seller a question". Lazarus
I went with the standard Supra pocket from Toyota, didn't cost alot.
SuperSupra
The thing I got was dirt cheap, cost £15 I think including postage which aint bad cos it's very good quality (although a very simple thing to make if you have the right tools!). Fast delivery too. Each to their own I guess though.
garetheves
I really like that. Ive got an alpine head unit as well but unfortunately with mine i can only change the colour of the 4 buttons on the left, the display always stays green which is a bummer because id like it all blue like you've got. Lazarus
and makes a very effective holder for the triple Bagpuss airfreshner conversion. LOL, Mine holds the remote for the stereo, (because stretching one finger out to push a button is too much effort! )
tbourner
Surely it's more effort to get the remote from just below the stereo? I've got the black plastic cubby thing, handy for my phone.

Its all to do with conservation of energy, mines an auto, so I have to reach forward to pull it out of park, whilst my hand is that close to the dash anyway I just grab the remote at the same time, the remote remains in my hand until journey's end and when the shifter go's back to park I just drop it back into the pocket. Minimal energy expeniture! (Tongue firmly in cheek )
tbourner
Aah very clever, and most effecient planning of energy usage! You obviously have to deny any possibility of requiring both hands on the wheel for a safety manouvre though; as your 'two hand' steering ability will be compromised!!
