lowering springs raised supra

Recommended Posts

don't know if i am being thick, (no comments please) missing something obvious or both,

have fitted two sets of lowering springs to my j spec the latter being eibach pro kit which i have just done, rear only at mo cos its doing my nut in. they are supposed to lower by around 20mm but they have raised it by about 10mm, is it that the old spring were sh**ged or ???

but seen plenty of supes lower, the original setup was yellow shocks front (presume stock billie's) black at back with a 'T' marked on them, and what looks like stock springs all round

by the way have given it a small run around block everytime to let them settle themselves,

even seems that when i went back to original they were higher than before.

doesnt make sense to me.

whats happening???????

springs take time to settle, i lowered an old car of mine ages ago, took 3 weeks for the rear tyres to start rubbing on the arches, after 5 weeks i couldnt drive it

didn't think they took long to settle, what springs were they?

i'm not a mechanic but cant see how i have done anything wrong

it is just a matter of straight swap isn't it ??

If you have fitted them correctly, then don't worrry. I have done many car spring changes on the supra. The stock springs at the thre rear tend to be very very low after 50k on the clock. This is because of the power the car puts to the rear wheel. You will see a difference but it does take time. Probably a good 500 miles or so. Don't expect miracles at 20mm though. If it's high now then you will see a difference but probably it will settle to what you had on before you changed em.
