jjgage Posted June 10, 2003 Share Posted June 10, 2003 Anyone have a clue as to why my ciggy lighter ain't working - sorry correction.....it works for the actual cigarette lighter but when i plug in my mobile charger or anything else that would use it, it doesn't work - have tried three or four other chargers and various other thingys too but no joy....any ideas?? Good point but the contact points may be different. Have you stuck a meter in there to see if you can pick up voltage off the contacts. The contact points are quite deep in the socket. No you are right, it is more an issue on older cars where cigarette sockets were slightly different. It could be the case here that your accessory plugs are not quite right for the socket.
