Mark Ayling
Chaps.... I was attempting to replace the fag-lighter in my car yesterday, as it doesn't work. There is (was!) definitely power to it, as my radar detector is hardwired to the same power supply. However, I stupidly shorted it out when removing the old one, I guess I've just blown a fuse but none of the ones under the engine bay have gone - any idea where the fuse for this lives? I had a look under the driver's-side kick-panel (as I thought there were more fuses under there) but couldn't see any "normal" fuses.... Any help appreciated - I have to get this fixed by Thursday as I'm going to Le Mans and we really need to plug our fridge in, can't be drinking warm beer all weekend.... TIA, Mark. mos
Get a torch and look above the drivers side kick panel and you should see a black cover that unclips, the fuses are inside there. You dont actually need to remove the kick panel as its above the panels top lip

400BHP
Here's a challenge for you then, where is the relay that controls the headlight washer pump? Its not in the main fusebox. Any ideas?
Steve W
mmmmm.... can't see a RELAY for them ? ! (and there probably should be - but if the current's not too bad, doesn't HAVE to be ?!) BUT, they run thru No.45 MAIN fuse (Under Bonnet) and No.1 BLADE fuse (Kick-Panel) > > >

Steve W
YEAH, but, could use 'em as BUMPERS..... you must hear a little 'CRUNCH' ~3inches from the MAJOR one ? ! ['sides, could have used the circuit/bottle for an I/C spray:devil: ...for those HOT Pod' days ! ! ]
400BHP
Yeah it definately has a relay in line somewhere, its not under the bonnet because I have removed then one at a time and shorted the switched circuit to see if the pump runs and it doesn't. Also the wiring to the switch is definately just control circuit gauge wire, no where near the size of the pump wiring, which is quite a large gauge, the pump has a large outlet and is quite a hefty motor, its about 3 times the size of the windscreen washer pump. Im gonna try the relays under the dash soon, when I get chance.
Guest Martin F
I think they are the ones under the nearside headlight and behind the front bumper.
400BHP
Thats what I thought but unfortunately no, they are air con and traction control i belive from memory, it had the designation written on them.
Branners
you did take the comments about having your headlamps on when operating the washers seriously didnt you? JB
400BHP
Errr yes john, Headlamps and Ignition on, still no voltage at the pump. I need to locate the relay so that I can see if the switching voltage is present.
