Split water hoses

I have been having a problem with water hoses lately! First the one that comes out the back of the cylinder head, that attaches to the pipe going into the bulkhead cracked and now one of the small pipes near the front that go to the metal turbo coolant piping has cracked too. Both pipes had gone brittle inside and eventually the outer ply formed a small split. I have now replaced all the hoses I can get to but looking at the EPC I can see there are a number of hoses (turbo and bypass) that might be difficult to get to. Has anyone ever changed these, how much do you have to take off to get to them? Who else has found their hoses splitting like this, am I just unlucky? I fitted a new radiator cap recently, standard Toyota part, because the old one wasn’t holding pressure (split washer), that’s when the trouble began. I wanted to find out if this is a common problem so I could gauge the likelihood of me having to replace all those hard to reach pipes too.
