Wazz72
The garage have just rung me asking where the lamber probe goes when they remove the front cat. as there is no hole in the decat pipe. Theyre just going to cable tie it to the bottom for the moment, does the pipe need drilling or is it ok for it just to be tied on?
terawua
Definitely need to put the lambda probe in or it will run like an old truck! With apalling MPG!
mikeyb10supra
sounds like you got a J-spec pipe there matey
Maxx
The only option is to drill the De-cat and weld on a suitable boss to take the lambda probe. This thread might help

Wazz72
You its a front decat for a uk car I have, Unfortunatley the bit it fits on to (the Car) is Jap. Anyone goy any suggestions? do I have the cat Drilled out, or do I get the flange from my existing cat cut off and welded onto the decat instead? Also if I do that then I will need to have the decat drilled for the Lamber Probe? Aghh..
SimonB
If it's a J spec then it's not a lamda probe at all, but the cat overheat sensor, which can indeed be just tied up out of the way. If you look you will see the actual Lamda probe in the elbow that connects to the cat pipe.
bignum
if the pipe is for a uk car it prob wont fit at all
SimonB
Yeah, good point, the flanges are different so a UK decat pipe won't fit a Jspec.
Kev.O
Probably easier in the long run to sell that de-cat and buy the correct one from someone like Chris Wilson or Envy!
JohnA
There is no stock sensor in the front decat mate, not on the UK version. As said, best is to sell what you've got and get a UKSpec pipe.

ivan
If you need a flange to have welded on, this place does 'em: http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/lambda_sensors.php
JohnA
My UKSpec has the stock O2 sensor on the downpipe, and nothing on the cat bypass (apart from the wideband bung I had fitted) The other sensor (cat temp or whatever) is way back after the first cat I would have thought that all UKSpecs are the same, right? JSpec cat replacements don't fit the UKSpec, we know that alright...
Chris Wilson
You have a Jap spec pipe, which will not fit the UK turbo elbow. On Jap spec 1st cats there is TEMPERATURE probe held by two 5mm bolts. This is unbolted and TIED UP out of harms way, not refitted into the cat replacement pipe, cut off, or disconnected. The correct UK 1st cat pipe has no sensor provision as UK ones have no cat overheat sensor. Easiest to flog yours and buy the correct pipe, IMO.
