Thanks again James for organising the meet, had a great day :)

Terry's car was awesome, gotta love the sound of a single going flat out! And Leett, your single install looks very tidy, fair play for doing all that work yourself.

I didn't get the result I was expecting, somehow the car is massively overfueling and was down 50rwhp since the last time it was there (AFR is now 10.4 on boost!). Looks like the car will be going to Phoenix soon for diagnosis!

Was a good day, very good turn out, good job everyone.

2 hours sleep and i'm back to work :(

As for figures 330.6hp @the wheel which works out to about 429 at the fly. Intresting because i've dyno'd it 3 times now in the same state. The first was 316.1 and the second 345. The only thing changed come to think of it is the oil and new plugs from the 2nd run. Gonna be searching the engine for a boost leak tomorrow i think.

Well, mine only got 318rwhp at 1.05bar. Previous result was 360rwhp at 1.1bar - something's wrong with my baby

But, I guess some of you want to know Terry's results? I'll let him post them up if he wants to, but needless to say they were rather respectable (And only a couple of bhp out from what he guessed it might be  )

Evening people,

Well i had a great day, thanks for organising it James! Couldnt get Suzanne to stay for all of it but i did get a happy meal from her half way through so i cant complain! :)

My car had just been decatted on Saturday so was keen to see how things were.

After running the car he called me over and asked how long i'd had it and if i was happy with it or not, but, he had a look on his face that worried me and asked me to come look at the pc screen. Slowly my heart began to sink to my feet, expecting worrying comments from him.

He said it was an extremely healthy car running very well (piss taking sod was winding me up :) ). It made 320.2 rwhp and about 303 FtLb of torque. He said the fueling was spot on with an AFR of 11.5 at 6800 rpm. However, it made this at 0.95 bar of boost.

Now, the car is a j-spec with an apexi induction kit, 3" front decat, 3" centre decat, backbox and IK24 plugs. I also had a 1.2 bar restrictor ring fitted on saturday. I've got a Blitz turbo timer/boost gauge in the car and this was peaking at 1.23 before i had the front decat/ring fitted. I reset the peak boost when the front decat/ring was done and its now peaking at 1.14. So i guess the gauge is obviously over reading a little as well compared to the equipment used on the rolling road.

So, in my eyes, there should be more boost there available and safely (going by his 0.95 bar), but the ring seems to be limiting it a bit too much. Would it be worth me making the hole wider, and if so by how much? Might be worth chatting to Chris W about it.

I'll post up the scanned sheets when i'm at work tomorrow.

Nite

Christian

PS, thanks for trying to look for a FCD Homer, i will check there now i know how. If i break those clips its your fault! :)

Great day James.

I made 338 rwhp/330 torque @ 1.15 bar, running a bit rich :(

At Thor I got 364 hub hp/367 torque at 1.2bar so I think Thors figure is similar to Surrey rolling road? (more loss on wheel dyno??)

I'll post some pics soon.

And er raced a escort cossie and R33 GTR on the way back, see the 'Spirited Driving' section soon!:p

Nice to meet the new and old face, Ark, that was me talking about the Carbing strut braces.....Nice bit of kit Terry! Front one has a brace for the brake servo thingy-ma-jig and the rear one has two extra mounting points in the middle that bolt onto the stock fittings! Much better than all the other ones!!!!!:ok:

I shouldn't bother upping the boost anymore unless you are on hybrids. My power tails off and EGT's rise after 1.15 bar so holding at 1.15 bar is a good thing.

Thats not a bad thing, just means it can be a little more efficient thats all. better than running lean!

Nice figures!

Yeah, what did Terry get?

serve me right for not putting those ik24 in before the RR, got misfire!

That that was a little spooky how we were talking about putting them in today and then Charlie comes out with the plugs may need changing

I'm sure when they're in the new premises we'll get another day sorted out. Should be March/April so that gives everyone time to complete a few more mods :p

Guys,

I've got my graphs scanned in as a pdf file but dont know how to put them up. Can anyone help please?

Dangerous Brain - my gauge showed it was peaking at 1.14 (he thought it was over reading) but on his rolling road it only showed it as running at 0.95 and no higher, hence me thinking i should be able to up the boost?
