Piston rings are very cheap and an engine rebuild every 40.000 km costs 2.000 USD. For a 1000 horsepower car 2000 USD is not a big deal every 40.000 km. Rebuild includes new piston rings, pistons are not replaced, a new headgasket is installed, and new oil is added" Engine rebuild every 40k Km?!?! They make a big song and dance about Supras not being able to go over 1.5bar boost without 112 octance race fuel and run theirs at 2.1bar on pump gas? Hmmmmm. This is similar to the transmissions used on Toyota Supras, both transmissions are from the same family. Supras' transmissions are also made by Getrag.
