VIL
First chilly morning, Christmas is on its was! So I thought I would use the heater for the first time this year. Turned it up to hot and ........ only a tiny amount of warm air If I give her some stick then I do get a burst of warm air but if its idling then its almost cold. Is this a blocked matrix? If so whats the best way to sort it out? I cant be driving to work with a hat, coat and gloves on all winter.
how_supra
My Puma did this last year as well. My first thought was my heater matrix. But it turned out to be a buggered thermostat which was lucky. I don't know how to check though......... However As a temporary measure you can buy a heater that plugs into your cigerette lighter...............
Pig
could be as simple as someone has not bled the radiator properly. i didnt do it properly in my old car and was fecking freezing all winter..... either bleed the the radiator or buy a new car like i did....SOOP!!! markrzs
From what i've herd, it dose'nt want to be the Matrix :thumbdown Good luck thought mate ! I had a Renault 19 16v a few years ago and the heater never used to work, winter mornings it had thick ice on the inside of the windscreen. Don't freeze
toyotasuprauk
Mark bloody french cars! I believe you can use bars radiator flush to flush the blockage hopefully.

michael parker
Could be a number of things: - blocked pipes, (bars radiator flush, halfrauds @ about £4.99) - Could be heater matrix, try a search on here and flush the pipes with a hosepipe or px washer, (be careful though if the matrix is on it's way out and you blast HP down it, you could finish it off! -Could be air mixture flap only opening partially. -Insufficiently bled radiator. -thermostat? VIL
Thanks for the ideas so far. I did have a new rad put on in the summer, but surely this would not have held an air lock for this long? Whats the best way to check?
