Daston
Hi guys got 3 things bugging me and not sure if it is normal or just me being paranoid (sp??). First off I have changed my wheels to UK spec TT 17"'s and now every time I pull out of my drive/garage after its been standing all night and day (dont drive it to work) it sounds like I'm driving over chippings and little stones are hitting my rear wheel arch. (by the way I have no small stones around) Second I noticed that my temp controler makes an eletric whine noise when I change the temp is this normal as this is the first time I have heard it. Third and last I have a squeeky Clutch (yes I said Clutch so dont need to see a doc) basicly on realise it admits a loud squeek from the engine bay and footwell only does it when the car has sat in the rain. Ok thats my list Cheers guys
toyotasuprauk
Well the electric whine is normal in regards to the temperature. Its just moving the position the air comes from.

eyefi
are the wheels on tight, with the correct wheel nuts?
Daston
wheel nuts are my old 16" ones and I jumped on the wrench to tighten them. Could they be too tight??

Ian C
You may well have sheared a stud or two. Awooga, awooga. Take the wheels off and see how many studs snap. -Ian
Daston
well one I say jump I ment push with my feet as I got poor little feeble arms However if they are sheered/snapped surly the noise would continue all the time and not just when the car is first used form the cold
SimonB
I know what you mean about the chippings, perfectly normal. It's amazing how much crap a big wide sticky tire picks up. Have a look at your tyres next time before you drive off and you'll see what I mean.
Daston
ah I see so basicly as the tyre is hot it gets stones n shit stuck to it that then flick off when cold makes sense
