ardasaliah
Why are they so crap?- Driving along the motor way at night is a problem as they don’t light up the road sufficiently. Recently fitted new bulbs- Xzon(sp) blue types 100w etc- but still not as good as my 1.0 polo w reg. Can anyone recommend a set of bulbs that do a good job in lighting up the road ahead as its very annoying having to use the beams on and off. markrzs
Philips blue vision are very good, they have a very clean white light and a small dash of blue ( hence ''blue vision'' ) Alternativley I think someone is doing a group buy on HID kits. toyotasuprauk
I've got some blue visions now and whilst they are better they are not amazing through my jap lights. When I first saw them on Markrh car with glass headlights they looked much brighter. Are your headlights very yellow?
terawua
HID... no question. This was the very first mod I did to the car- the difference is incredible and actually lets you see far enough to not be scared about what is in the distance (plus they look cool and bright and people get out of your way )
ardasaliah
HI - I have uk glass as mines a UK spec Being thick here- whats HID? how much and where cheers?
supragold
HID is basically xenons (I think) you know, what audi's, VW's and beemers have. Definately the way forward. I'm going to order mine soon. Can't wait to see again. Currently using maglights as these are better than stock.

ardasaliah
OK- I think they are a little expensive as I did a search- Any recommendations for a straight forward bulb swap?
Bobbeh
Nothing wrong with mine, you sure your head light level is correct?
garetheves
When i had my J-spec lights i used to keep the front fogs on when main beam was on. Not strictly allowed but never got stopped once with them on. Continued to do it now ive got Uks as well, out of habit more than anything. Makes a big difference. carl0s
I've complained about this for a while too.
RedM
I got some replacement bulbs form our parent company, Ring Lighting. Xenon plus. Claimed to be 30% brighter. Made a huge difference and best of all they plugged straight in. Took longer to walk to the car and back than to fit them. I also leave the sides on though. Just like to make people aware that I'm there.

ScuttleRX
Is re-wiring the lights an option. Know its a trick used in FD's quite a bit as the quality of our stock lights are shocking too, nice thick gauge wire from battery through a relay to get the voltage up a bit. Meant to have a noticable effect on ours...not sure of the case with supes, could be worth looking into though as wouldnt cost much at all. garethr
Soarers also have crap lights (and no "UK" upgrade). I haven't tried them yet, but PIAA bulbs are a popular mod for our cars. Expensive, but a lot cheaper than HIDs.
DamanC
lol funny you should mention this. As i was driving home tonight (in the dark) i thought to myself, damn i must have a bulb out, so pulled over to check, walked round the front and said to myself, oh there just crap then
Nic
If you want the best night time visibility, then go for a good quality HID. I've just supplied quite a few members so I'm sure there will be feedback on here in next couple of days once fitted. If you go [thread=30910]HERE[/thread] you will also see a write up/photos that Phil did when he fitted the kit I sourced him. PM me if you want delivered prices
