Motec traction vs RLTC?

Presumably all these ECU based systems only use the RPM and speed signals to decide if wheel spin is occurring. The advantage of RLTC is that it uses the individual wheel speeds from the ABS sensors. So it can tell when you are cornering, and allow less slip than when you're in a straight line, which the ECU based ones can't (unless they also have the ABS wheel speed sensors wired in).

It uses the wheel speed sensors ( or at least the Autronic does)

Oh BTW I would set the TC up as following or at least from memory its how the purple car is set up:

No TC below 10 mph

1st Gear 15% Slip

2nd Gear 15% slip

3rd Gear 12% slip

4th Gear 10% slip

5th Gear 9% slip

6th Gear 8% slip

I found anything less than 8% annoying

The above is purely based on how I like to drive and wont suit everyone

I meant 1/2 the price for the unit which is fully unlocked...compared to the motec's fully unlocked price.

Fitting a mapping are nothing to do with the units per say.

Well unless you plan to keep it on your mantlepiece I would say that the fitting and mapping price was very relevant.

Gugh yes they are but they are dependent on the mapper and not the actual wholesale value of the box of tricks.

OK.

So, out of interest, what functions are locked within the Motec and how much is the retail price for a fully unlocked version? I ask as this was never offered to me when I bought mine.

Depends on the MoTeC and I don't know all the options...but things like anti lag and TC are extra features which cost more. I don't know the definitive list maybe CW does?

I will try to find out of Owen too. So what is the retail of the Motec then fully unlocked?

Presumably you have to wire it in to the ABS lines then? I take it it's not a plug n play thing. Must be a right pain to wire in...

No it's not PnP mate.
