Matt_J
I was hit on friday 21st, by a flat bed lorry from behind. The supra's rear was smashed to pieces. I walked away with whiplash, with is very lucky because it could have been much, much worse. Unfortunatly, my supra was deemed beyond economical repair & therefore, written off. I suppose I can now get a twin turbo!!! Well, got to look for a silver lining somewhere..................
Prof. Monkey
Considering the apparent innability of the insurance companies to set a worthy value for your POJ, you ought to settle for keeping the car, with a settlement amount as well, you would get more for the car if you then parted out the broken car. There is a lot of GS300's with stellar mileage who would buy the engine, was your car manual or auto?
Mike25tt
S**T. Your damn lucky to have only come out of that one with whiplash. Cars can be replaced but ppl can't. I hope you get sorted out ok and look forward to getting a Twin Turbo!
Terminator
Sorry to hear this. What an arse the guy must have been. Take care of your neck, it has been 20 years since my rear shunt and it still hurts somedays.
Matt_J
The insurance company have already settled on a value for the car & I have accepted. I got a very good valuation!!!! It was an auto. The engine was in fantastic condition, I am sure someone will snap it up. I do feel totally lucky to have walked away from it. The lorry driver admitted liability in front of an independent witness.

Matt_J
I am 90% sure I'll be getting a TT Supra next. But I'm not going to rush it, I'm going to find the exact one I want. Supra's are amazingly tough!!!!!! But I dont recommend trying it out.
Ian W
totally gutted for you mate and glad you came out of it okay ...another silver lining is that patch of rust on your aerotop won't be causing you any problems!!
how_supra
OMG! I hope you are okay. If you walked away with just Whiplash you are very lucky. And like you said, you can buy a TT now. Just think if you were in some dodgy 12 year old fiesta [instead of a 12 year old supra] you probably wouldn't be here to tell the tale. Lewis
where the is blame, there's a claim. I crash into my mrs last month (long story) and she didnt even have to claim personal injury, they just offered it. Get a few more quid like that if you have not already. She wasn't even injured, I was the one on the spinal board (go figure)
how_supra
You make a good point. You can only claim once, so why not??

dangerous brain
You after a TT aerotop? Or you going manual. I only ask as I have a black TT aerotop for sale if you are interested. Its BPU++++ though with 395 at the hubs.
Kopite
Ouch! Like the others said, count yourself lucky to walk away!!
Matt_J
Cheers everyone! I cant wait to get another supra. Definitly a Twin Turbo, not an aerotop. Hopefully a 6 speed manual, but I would settle for an auto. I'm going to take my time & get exactly what I want.
