Patters
Hi to all, Having some problems with the idling of my car, when cold it doesn't like to rev very high. Also when coming to a stop the car nearly stalls, and to make matters worst it doesn't like starting up either Can anyone help? Thought it could be the idle control valve or throttle positon sensor. Any ideas?? Cheers Patters
Guest Martin F
Could really be any of the sensors. Have you checked for fault codes ?
supna
Mines also a 94 N/A but a manual. Mine did this but only when cold. I bought a can of Carb cleaner and sprayed it inside the throttle body. (Take black hose off and give it a damned good blast especially down the little hole on the right hand side. It would appear that my throttle body was full off cack because the last owner never really looked after the car.) When checking for fault codes on mine it did'nt come back with any. Check the connector on the Idle speed control aswell, it may have just come loose. After I fixed mine mine now runs too damned high (Circa 12-1300rpm when warm) I have adjusted the throttle cable adjust but no difference. Even treid retarding the dizzy but its retarded to the max. Hope this helps David
Patters
Thanks supna, I'll give it a go tomorrow. There are no fault codes on the car, but the car has been standing around for a while, so I suppose I can't expect it to be perfect Thanks to you both, Patters
