imi
there is a setting in windows that says "allow USB device to bring computer back from standby", this is what is stopping the computer from switching off.

merckx
Not 100%, just going off what imi said Select: Control panel System Hardware Device manager Universal serial bus controllers, then select the appropriate one for your broadband internet connection Power manager If you right click on "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" Then left click on " What's this?" it will explain what checking this box means. Branners
and also just to make sure, you are choosing start-turnoffcomputer-turnoff and not hibernate or standby? I have yet to have a machine that reliably goes in to standby or hibernate when live USB units are plugged in. JB
