eyefi
a question for the non recirculated (dump to atmosphere or dump tube) wastegate folk at wot, fully open wastegate, will my afr reading still be accurate in the downpipe? i would think it should be, same source, just less of it? b_have
Yes it would be. Nothing to do with volume. My sensor is also in the did pipe. Think the sensor would overheat anywhere near the wastegate.

So has mine been installed too close to the turbo?

b_have
Maybe, Guess it depends on the sensor, I use the innovate wb kit with a Bosch sensor. Doesnt like temps>500C.
bedlam
They should stay constant even with a WB stuck up the rear of the exhaust ours where rock solid.... And that WB looks to close to the turbo, i believe most will want about 3 feet from the manifold,or they burn out quick. Andy
SimonB
? Well hey, maybe I'm missing something, but that's after the wastegate, it's in the downpipe after the turbo isn't it?
b_have
I would guess he means the wastegate is plumbed back into the downpipe (ie no screamer) after the sensor.

SimonB
Do you mean me charlie?, then no mine is to air Then you're in the same situation as eyefi, the wastegate will vent exhaust gas that would otherwise go through the O2 sensor.
