Branners
Looks like the starter motor on my UK spec has completely failed. Should I be asking Phoenix to refurb it, put on a new one or track down one from a scrapper? JB
Aerotop Dave
Send it to CW for refurb. About £60 I think.
Branners
thanks, wasnt aware he did refurbs on them. I will PM him now. Its going to be one of those months, I just had a caliper seize on the citroen which is going to cost a fortune and then the starter on the supra goes caputt. Im now left driving a Celica from work, and its sooo boring. JB
lpher
Its most likely just the solenoids (are what you guys call it) that are gone...and needs replacing I had the local Toy-shop do mine a few weeks ago

Branners
thanks for the PM Steve. The starter is still on the car while it waits to go in to Phoenix to be checked over so I cant send it up with you, but thanks for the offer. I will see what sort of price Phoenix come back with once the car gets to them. JB

Marty
do it yourself. theres nothing to it, 95% change itll be your solenoid, it'll cost you £14 for the bits from toyota and a few hours of your life to get it off and back on. mine went about 4months ago. awkward to get to, make sure youve got the right tools and its easy, 14m ratchet spanner if i remember rightly.
