Si's got a point, i know a few people that do it now and then. There was the old tale that a high percentage of doctors and lawyers etc have the odd sniff here and there too.....

Certainly none of the lawyers i've worked for have done but then there is a stigma attached to the profession i think shortly after the programme 'this life' that lawyers are actually young wild party animals...where as most of them are boring b*&$rds! :D

Your "friend" will have to prove that he had just picked up and wasn’t intending to supply. Shouldn't be too hard really, as he won't have the trappings of being a dealer, eg: baggys, huge amounts of cash, etc. If he can prove he has full time employment then that’s a big bonus. If he drops the person he scored off in it, then that’s his get out of jail card, might not be a very safe idea though. Tell him to get a good solicitor and he'll get off with a fine, probably not a very large one as it's a first offence. I certainly know a lot of people in much worse situations who have escaped a jail term.

The court won't be able to use his previous banning for any offence relating to drugs and the driving without insurance etc will not be treated as a serious offence, 500 quid fine maximum and a ban extension, maybe less.

I seriously dislike people who drive without insurance and the current laws are a farce, but then again so are the ridiculous antiquated laws relating to drugs in this country . . :thumbdown

Infact the CPS and the Police will basically wrap him up in Cotton wool too and say 'Your a very VERY naughty boy dont do it again' unless of course he was speeding at the time also..then forget it...he may as well kiss his ass goodbye:nyah:
