edd_t
hello, I have a personal number plate on my MG at moment, which is for sale, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=50187 (shameless plug) And I wanna put the plate on retention, cause Im pretty sure that no ones gonna want 'Edd' on their number plate. How do I go about doing it? Is it a visit to the local DVLA, or is it a form from the posty office??? Anyone help?
Jake
I had to go to the local DVLA office to swap the plate from one car to another recently. I assume it's the same for putting the plate on retension. Take all the paperwork, log book, insurance, MOT.

michael parker
IIRC it's approx £30.00 a year to keep it on retention, a friend of mine did it a couple of years back.

psymon
Yep you have to pay 30 quid for the year to keep it on retension, then another 30 quid the folowing year or you lose it. Robin bast****ds...

Angie
The charge from DVLA is £105 when you actually take the car from the car and put it on retention. That's £80 to transfer it OFF the car and £25 for the retention certificate. The renewal of the certificate is £25 per year thereafter. Just to clarify.
