RedM
Saw that these two are in the shops now. Wondering if anyone has them and what specs they are running. I have an Athlon XP 3200+ with a GeForce 6200 TurboCache gfx car. 512mb ram. Anyone have similar? Maybe time to upgrade the gfx card.

The chip is fine, the gfx card might have a hernia, and you could do with sticking another 1gb of RAM in (suprisingly cheap, Hmm, FEAR. Might go and get that now -Ian
Pete
FX5700 and AMD 3500+ with 1Gb RAM. Striped hard discs make a massive difference. I think I'm in need of an upgrade this xmas. No excuse working for a hardware supplier company really.

slick
486 DX80 4mb memory Onboard graphics and sound (stereo sound!) Turbo button firmly pressed in. Seriously now my rig is still knocking on, 2600+, 6600GT (overclocked), 1gb memory. Runs Q4, Fear and HL2 no worries while looking pretty enough at present. DamanC
A64 3200 1gb of Crucial Balistix 6800GT flashed to ultra Fear runs pritty well with 1024x768 and getting in between uber and medium, 4x AA, and get about 40/50fps, i get the odd stutter when it loads new bad guys or a bit of a level Q4 is 1024x768 with everything on high 4x AA and it runs sweet as a nut. I really liked fear, some people are slating it but personnally if you can see through some of bland levels then its for you, Ending is freeky! Q4 is nearly finished too, excellent game, much better than i thought, well laid out levels etc
Bobbeh
P4 3.2HT, 1 GIG 400mhz DDR ram, AtI Radeon 9800XT, I cranked it up to 1600 today in high detail (cant do ultra detail) and it ran... slow but playable. Runs fine in 1280 if u lower the texture detail/draw distance a little. I run in 1024 in high detail and its sweet as a nut. I am actually enjoying this game more as it goes along. It was too slow being a human

garetheves
My computer has been giving me serious grief recently and i just cant figure out what is wrong with it. With these 2 games out now im beginning to think that i may as well just upgrade now, seems a convenient time. THis is the settup i was thinking about. 1. ASUS A8N Nforce 4 SLI MB with RAID and SATA. 2. Athlon 64 3200+ 3. 1gb PC3200 RAM 4. ASUS 6600GT 128Mb Gfx card (with a view to getting a second in a few months). I think this should be an ok system for the current games and all the above is only gonna set me back £340 so not too bad. On top of that im thinking of a few new HDDs as well but will have to see what the budget can streth to.
