Recommended Posts

I want to fit a HKS SSQ BOV to my car but not in the same place as I had my Blitz.

Is it possible to have it fitted to piecec of intercooler piping that comes down from the throttle bodie? (just the curved bit of piping)

and then have the normal rubber piping atach on the the end of the allot elbow with the BOV welded on to the side of it????

A bit like this pic but with just on BOV and then re connect the alloy elbow to the stock piping.

Am I talking complete bollocks?

Look at this.....attached

.... it has the BOV in the ali-pipe.

Is this what you meant?

ps That's my water injection pipe coming out the top (tiny blue pipe) and I don't have an aftermarket intercooler so it's attached to stock piping.

How do I just get that one piece of intercooler piping? What do I have to order to do and install like this??

I am also wondering what happens to the normal large pipe that the BOV usually connects to?

I remember there are 3 pipes with a stock BOV.

Vacuum , One of them I blanked of when I had by Blitz SS, and the other large one? what do I do to that if I move the BOV to intercooler piping like this?

Ijust realised you still have the stock BOV connected? Do I still need this? or can I remove and blank off?

That's an old photo. I no longer have the stock BOV. (It was broken anyway!)

I've just capped all the pipes to it off. I used 22mm copper end caps, normal plumbing use. A bit naff and I intended to replace with some proper rubber caps but never did.

I'm not sure where you buy this from as I purchased it from Leon who had it fitted to his car and then went for a complete FMIC replacement. So I just got it 2nd hand.

Pete, this could be a dumb arse question but, I'll ask anyway.....

When running the HKS unit as in the photo (with stock air box) did it work OK ? i.e. apart from the function of venting was it loud enough ?

(I assume that the stock air box only affects volume of the stock bov ??)

Worked perfectly. Still does work! The HKS BOV is still in the same location, I've just bunged up the stock one.

Correct.

remember I said it was already ON Leons car and then he took it off to fit the full FMIC kit and sold it on.

It is a HKS pipe! not a Leon made pipe.

But nothing to stop anyone making one up!

In fact I'm going for a full FMIC in the not too distant future so you could buy mine. This is also dependant on when my mate gets his new design of front bumper finished.

Pete

If you just did what i said and phoned leon then you would find that he will sell you an HKS weld on adaptor for an ally pipe .im getting one copied for stainless but they are not cheap (the ally one are though) , like i said phone leon and tell him john sent ya.
