jackso11 Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 I see alot of you on here have used hammerite to paint your calipers, but I also know that hammerite is very flammable. Anyone had any problems with it? I painted the crank case on a motorbike I used to have with black hammerite and from what I can remember it used to smell of burning paint evertime I stopped moving! merckx Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 If you want to paint them red then get some Plasti Kote bright red spray , it's much nicer than the Hammerite which I tried aswell. Because the calipers won't be perfectly smooth I used some grey hammered finish spray first and then the bright red. B&Q and Halfords sell the Plasti Kote spray paint. Attached below is the kit I used & VHT & Paint brush from B&Q & new decals. And here are the calipers with 1yrs usage on them after the process.
