2JZ-VVTi - R35 Coils w/wasted Spark

Hi all,

I will be swapping my OEM ECU with an HKS FCON on my 98 Supra VVTi to an EMU Black with a plug-and-play harness.

Currently, the car has only BPU modifications, but the plan is to swap to a single turbo in the future.

While upgrading the ECU, I was also considering upgrading the ignition to R35 coils.

To retain the OEM wiring, I was thinking of using a plug-and-play harness while still running wasted spark. This might not be the best approach for these coils, but it would help keep the wiring tidy and simple. My question is, could running wasted spark on these coils cause any issues due to the increased current draw?
