AMG
Hi all, Has anyone got any advice regarding opening up an ECU to see if there is anything glaring and obviously wrong? Still chasing the rough idle and over fuelling issue. Is it simply a case of undoing the four corner screws and pulling the cover off?
Mike2JZ
Remove bolts, pull cover off and check for any blown electrical components
AMG
Well I can't see anything obviously wrong or blown inside. Coolant sensor and then tps to check next
AMG
Well that went well Put the ecu back and now won't even fire up. Have managed to fix the soldering on the engine check light though. Ball ache.

bonus_2000
Good spot, they shouldn't be too hard to replace hopefully.
Chris Wilson
It uses a multi layer PCB on the original board (Being a Blitz ECU it also has the additional daughter board inside the case). The electrolyte from leaking capacitors eats the copper tracks and if it has managed to get inside the PCB material it may have eaten any internal copper tracks and is probably FUBAR. If you end up sending it to a "specialist" for repair ask them if they have a test setup to check it all then works. I have yet to find anyone in the UK that has made one, but happy to be proved wrong. Most just effectively tell you to "try it".
Umran9
Try Avilec UK they fixed my jza70 Ecu when no one else could. They tested all outputs circuits etc on a bench before sending back to me
