Door open light staying on

Hi all
Having an issue where the small light under the odometer is staying on, after some reading I've checked the tabs on my door catches which both are still in tact and operate the dome light fine so it seems to be a problem specifically with the door warning light, the light between the Speedo and rev counter stays on while ignition is on but does turn off when the key is removed however the door light under the odometer is on constantly even after keys out and doors locked. I've taken out the bulb for now to save the battery but starting to think it might be something to do with the bonnet or boot.
