Degsy
My Aircon bearing has seized up. i am not bothered about having Aircon fitted yet dont want to remove the whole unit. is it possible to bypass the air compressor unit and fit a shorter belt? Is there anything i need to be aware of, and last but not least where can you purchase a shorter belt?
tayr
Keep the AC compressor in place, unplug it and use SRD shorter belt (SRD sell them) thats my plans too Edited September 7 by tayr (see edit history)
Degsy
Great, have you already done it? i have read somewhere the belt hits the redundant pulley or needs some kind of mod to (damper) to keep the belt in line? Do you know the part number for the shorter belt?
keron
You don’t have to take the whole unit off to remove the bearing…. The bearing can be replaced….Just a bolt at the centre of the pulley and a clip to hold it in place…. Done loads before..
