Wrap, Dip or Paint

Recommended Posts

I'm changing the interior trim on my SLC, its currently Aluminium fabric, I've bought a spare set from breakers

and going for a dark c/f look

Would you hydrodip or wrap ? Or paint them and go Piano Black

I'll be doing the center console trim, ash tray and the 2 door handle surrounds

I would Carbon Skin them, if possible.

I think Piano black is a great for showing finger prints.

What about a tinted laquer to give a carbon esq look ?

Finger prints wont be an issue as its only me in the car, no kids to worry about.

Had piano black in my Range Rover with no problems, you just need to be careful

I'm getting silly quotes this morning for dipping so almost crossed that off the list.

Seems a few don't want the work as no reply to several enquiries

A mate who does all my paintwork can do the Piano black so I'm beginning to think that's the route I'll go.

I'll get him to give it plenty of lacquer then can be flatted if it did get scratched

Decided to go the Piano black route and we'll see how it well it lasts, as said no kids no wife so no problem hopefully

Dropped the parts to my mates car repair shop and left them with him. by far my cheapest option which did sway me a little 😀

That looks brilliant, do you know how your friend did that as they look amazing and ide like to do the same to some interior panels on my car.

Thanks I think it looks so much better than the original Aluminium fabric trim.

Once you have the trim out its really down to what's on its surface as to what you have to do.

Mine was straight forward and basically got flatted then primed and flatted then sprayed black then lacquered.
