mwilkinson
I've got a GR Supra. It's my daily. I bought it new and have had it just over 2 years. In that time I've done about 32K miles. It's a 3ltr Pro auto. They are a great car. Edited April 27 by mwilkinson (see edit history)

mwilkinson
Take one for a test drive. It's a great car. Most people who don't like it have probably never seen one in real life or ever driven one. I've only ever seen 3 others on the road in my 2+ years of ownership. I live in the SE and commute around the M25 everyday. They get loads of attention, which can be a negative if I'm honest. Getting in and out is an art, especially in restricted areas. I can't imagine it's any worse than other similar sized sports cars. Cabin in comfortable, packed with tech. Sound system could be better and it doesn't have android auto - which is a pain. It's incredibly agile and responsive, especially in sport mode. You should be able to pick up a car with a good saving over new now. The 8 speed auto is amazing and I see no benefit to having the manual - it is slower. If you want to control the gears you can pop it into manual mode and use the paddles. Dealer network support is absolute garbage. Toyota UK really have done themselves a disservice with this car and after sales support. rider
One reported issue puts me off the car, every review says you cannot drive with the windows down unless you like a good buffeting. The German ZF 8 speed boxes are good, I have one in my range Rover, but they are known to fall apart if not maintained with fresh oil every 50k or so miles. Some OEM's have 50k miles service intervals, others 60k miles or 6 years on the boxes. Some have them as a sealed for life unit. That life will likely be around 80k miles.

You can buy kits that attach to the area around the base of the wing mirror to eliminate the buffeting problem. Just a case of redirecting the air. Just do a flush at the reccomended intervals and it'll stand you in good steed...even 50k mile intervals aren't going to roll around too often for cars like these Edited April 29 by Style (see edit history)
mwilkinson
You do get wind buffeting, but it never bothers me as I never drive around with the windows open. If it's too hot i just put the aircon on, sit back and relax listening to the radio. No dust or road noise to bother me. Alternatively you can just buy the air deflector as mentioned above.
tayr
it's a decent car imo go for the auto over the manual. the manual box has too much interference that it doesn't really feel like you're doing it anyway, its quite computerized.
creative
Bit late to this but yep. I have a 2020 gts... and love it. It's my daily and incredibly fun to drive. MWilkinson covered most of it but missed the complete lack of storage! First world problems I know! Wind buffeting is a $20 fix... Personally I have gone with exterior styling rather than anything engine wise ( not interested in modding engines these days after the ute) but the b58 can make great power with minimal mods. The attention it gets is great and every fill up is a forecourt chat and my overall interaction with people is very positive... haven't really had any of the "it's a BmW herp a derp" comments. Only real negative I see is for tall or 'the larger gentleman' having a bit of a squeeze to get in it. SupraAyf
I've tried to like the new Supra, honest I have, but I just can't bring myself to accept it as a Supra........sorry guys. It seems a lovely car with a good German engineering pedigree but it just doesn't fire the old rockets. I love the rear of the car, nice shape and aero but the sides and the front let it down IMO. Might be a good investment for the future with so few having been sold. Edited May 29 by SupraAyf (see edit history)
Style
The aftermarket scene has really taken off with them so it can be pretty easy to make them look 1000x better...just need moderately deep pockets unfortunately The Speedhunters wing looks pretty much the same as a MK4 TRD wing but with more aggressive legs to bring it in to the bootlid. Seems as though the Mk4 really is a timeless design!
SupraAyf
@StyleSome proper wild cars being sold in Japan at the moment. £64,000 (plus import costs) will get you this wide-bodied beast.
mwilkinson
I've just bought a Carbon Factory TRD ducktail for mine. I did think about the Seibon mkiv style spoiler, but I didn't want to drill into my boot lid. I will replace the wheels soon, but I don't know for what though.
