Paul372
I had a problem with my auto box where it just kept slipping when putting the power down as the clutch packs had gone so I swapped it over with a uk spec auto box with new filter and oil and also fitted a titan 3200 high stall. Supe drove absolutely fine but I had some lights flashing on the dash. The overdrive and slip con lights are flashing alternately to each over and the main triangle light is very faintly on. Then the overdrive bottom stopped working as in it doesn’t pick up the revs now, the car still drives fine but now it won’t let me put any power down it’s like it’s in some kind of limp mode, seems like an electrical problem, any ideas or do you think the ecu is playing up thanks
AC93
Swapping ECUs with someone who has a spare would help. Is the battery charging correctly? Could be but hopefully not, a damaged autobox wiring plug/loom issue
Paul372
Battery fine, just seems really strange it was all working fine now it’s decided to play up

Code 53 by any chance?
Paul372
Tried checking the error codes with the paper clip trick but seems the engine light display not working
Paul372
Managed to get the display working where the engine lights is, but can’t read any error codes as it’s just flashing constantly without any pauses IMG_8382.mov
Rob W
IIRC when the terminals are bridged, if the light is constantly flashing it denotes no error codes are stored.
Paul372
These are the lights showing on the dash when driving, slip control not working and overdrive doesn’t work IMG_8384.mov

I know an owner that has tried swapping multiple ECU’s, traction ECU’s, speed sensor on the box, and still the problem persists. It must be something we are all missing for some reason. I thought it could be an abs error, but also apparantly not. So no idea what’s causing this problem for some owners.
Paul372
It’s got to be something electrical or a sensor I’m guessing
Hamilton
I learned that dry solder joints on the odometer can cause the OD and Slip Cont lights to flash with no error codes. I resoldered mine and the problem went away. Cruise control not working and/or the auto box hunting for gears or changing erratically can also be symptoms caused by dry solder in the same area, but I’m not sure whether they could cause the limp mode you’re experiencing. Some of the wires to the odo do connect with the speed sensor though. Could be worth a look.
Paul372
I did read on here that possibility could be the speedo converter, might be worth a shot changing it, so i thought I’ll check it out, doesn’t look the best installation and unsure what brand was used
Paul372
I can rule out the odo swapped it over with another one to test to see the overdrive would stop flashing but no change
Paul372
Update, I took the ecu out and found a couple of capacitors had blown / leaked so I sent off the ecu for repair had all the capacitors changed. It has fixed most of the problems, overdrive now working, auto box now back to normal with changing up and down gear and powers back but I still have the overdrive light flashing and slip con light on. Benjy
Have you looked at the throttle body?
Paul372
No what could it be on the throttle body, is there anything I can check. Now the ecu sorted it might now record an error code fingers crossed
Benjy
If the trac motor or TPS aren’t right, it’ll upset the OD and Trac lights. It operates the traction control and will activate during gearchanges - The OD light I believe is the only transmission fault light. Count the flashes.
