Great start Richard. Liked and subscribed mate. Look forward to seeing the updates as you transform this into something special. Clearly going to be a detailed tribute/replica so looking forward to seeing how you get on. I’m sure you can sell any of the bits you’re not going to use by the way, good luck and keep up the great work.

Thanks very much, we really want to make it a high quality build & a fitting tribute to the original car.

I am even trying to see if i can travel out to the original hero 1 car to confirm the colour, as it seems the internet has some confusion over the colour!

I'd love to see the actual hero 1 car

Morning,

I have been away on holiday and recently returned.

Little update video although not particularly exciting.

the guys picked up the V160 and manual conversion parts from SRD whilst i was away, and the engine is now stripped of all ancillaries and delivered to Paul Cheshire for a rebuild. Nothing mental, just a rebuild to refresh everything & some mild cams.

About to get ordering various other parts, turbo kit etc etc....

Will be heading over to the Bodyshop next week to see progress, and awaiting other parts arriving.

That wiring gives me PTSD

LOL.

Yes some wiring for sure, all removed and returned to original now though.
The guys were really pleased when they realised how much aftermarket wiring was in the car & how it had been done, as i am sure you can imagine.

Realised i have not updated on here for a while.

Not many interesting pictures currently -

We stripped the engine of ancillaries & dropped it off with Paul Cheshire for full rebuild.

Had an issue with a company who were supposed to be supplying all trim & seals (door seals, roof seals, weather strips, rear quarter glass etc) so having to claim for that money back. Lee at SRD came to the rescue & has supplied the trims/seals so that is taken care of now.

Lee also supplied the Precision 6266 Gen 2 turbo, fuel rail, fuel pump, injectors etc etc.

Bodyshop are getting along, i popped over last week to check with kit fitment after they have tweaked it around a bit, before the car now goes back to bare metal.

Really hoping to have it at shows next year but we have a large number of projects on so they may be a tall order, lets see.

A few more bits i have not posted, so we have got brand new correct headlights, we have also got the US sidelight markers which the film car had too.

Also got some Greddy hose joiners & Greddy pulleys as per the film car.
Still on with sourcing parts.

The wheels are now stripped & new barrels & lips ordered, they should look pretty cool once finished.

Been quite busy so updates have been slow.

the engine build is coming along with Paul Cheshire, as we all know he does a great job & having had dealings with Paul before we knew he was the guy for the engine build. Some pictures below of progress so far on that front.

The rear spoiler finally arrived from Canada, which was a relief as it felt like the money was paid & no spoiler was ever going to arrive but thankfully it is here!

Most of the shell has been taken back to metal, some modifications have been made to the bonnet & bumper to get them sitting a bit better.

Dan at Wheel Unique has also done a great job on the wheels, a couple of pics to show.
