RichACL
Hi everyone, I thought i would start a build thread on our Supra. We are going to be building a Fast & Furious tribute/replica and thought it would be good to document it here, as well as on our social media and youtube. Obviously the F&F Supra has been done multiple times, but we will be doing a bare shell build on the car and to a really nice standard. Having been a long time Supra fan, i found myself watching Just Driven youtube series on the build they have just recently completed. Craig Lieberman posted an update video on that build & mentioned that they had moulds done for the kit & were producing 6qty kits to a really high standard. I got in touch with Craig who i know to some degree through a couple of car deals for US clients, he put me in touch with James at Just driven & they had 1qty kit remaining, which we immediately secured. In the meantime i managed to find a Aerotop TT which looked to be the perfect base of such a build, and after some serious work managed to secure a used set of the correct Racinghart 19" wheels which i dare say i thought would be the biggest challenge. The kit has since arrived with us & it is very nice quality, we have also managed to get all new roof seals, window trims, rubbers etc. Also got a Nitrous kit & the correct Greddy intercooler kit. We will start the strip down most likely in the new year, once we have some customers cars finished & moved on. We are looking to get all parts for a manual swap together first, convert to manual, do a few test miles then strip down and start the build. I will try to upload some pictures of the base car as a starting point.
Hamilton
Hi Rich. Really looking forward to seeing this take shape. I followed the Just Driven F&F replica build on YouTube too and thought they did a fantastic job. Well done on finding the parts you’ve got so far- those wheels couldn’t have been easy to track down! Please keep us posted.

tomgeer
Good luck with the project! I still love those M5 tuner wheels, I bet they weren’t cheap to source
RichACL
Thanks for the replies guys, sadly it has taken more time than anticipated to get to a starting point. But, excellent news, the car is now out of storage, and we should be starting the strip down very soon. Some more parts sourced, such as correct rev counter, warning lights, spoiler. I am trying my best to hunt down the correct 60mm Greddy gauges that the film car had, found the fuel pressure gauge but still hunting for the boost, oil pressure & egt gauges. Hoping i have some good news regards the brake kit & some more interior parts this week. Fingers crossed some decent content coming soon.

RichACL
As you can see, we have finally started! The car was started on Monday in terms of strip down, and around other jobs ongoing too we have got this far. Engine & box should be out by the end of the day today, then its stripping the rest of the engine bay area out, cleaning the engine bay/shell and then we can trial fit the kit before the shell goes to paint. The engine will be going to Paul Cheshire for strip & rebuild. Also working in the background to source more parts.
RichACL
Thanks to GlennK & Paul Cheshire we now have a V160 box & a full manual conversion kit for the car.
Peter P
Nice. Sounds like it’s coming together nicely with all the right parts to make a proper quality tribute car. Look forward to seeing the progress on this. Any idea when you think it might be done or at least rolling as I appreciate there will be lots of little touches. Guessing it won’t be at any shows this year, but look forward to seeing it at some point. Keep up the good work guys.

It is hard to know for sure, we hope to have it over for the paint in around two weeks, and whilst it is in for paint we can be gathering up various other parts that we know we need. I think realistically we should have the car out at a few shows next summer all being well, but i said that about our Evo 5 build for this year, and that will likely be next year rather than this year sadly. We are doing some youtube video episodes so will be posting them up soon too.

Cant remember exactly which one it was but before people were guessing the colour so it’s worth watching back the just driven videos to find where he announces it

He helped me get a good US client into Paul walkers old R34. The colour seems to be quite a talking point at the minute, as Craig gave a colour which is listed on his site as being the colour. Just Driven also painted the car in that particular colour, however an owner of a very serious replica has stated that the hero 3 (from memory) car that he bought is not the same colour as his replica which is painted the colour Craig said it to be. This seems to have put a little cat amongst the Pidgeon's as they say. So i am trying to confirm who is right and what the actual colour is! When i wanted to do something similar i also spent ages looking - kept going between arancio atlas mica and arancio ishtar but once Craig said the colour (cannot remember what it was now) i stopped bothering as no point unless its right
RichACL
I will have some updated pictures later today, i have also added a wanted posted - long shot but looking for a Greddy Power Extreme exhaust system & also the Sillen brake kit......
RichACL
A few pictures of updates, engine & box are now out. Interior is also out, along with fuel lines, brake lines, aftermarket wiring etc etc.... As you can see we are now trial fitting the kit, which overall is very good but does need some fine fettling which you do expect of course. The quality is very good though. A few more parts sorted today, and working on finding other parts. The car should hopefully be heading to paint by the end of the week! A couple of pics of our Evo 5 project too.

RichACL
A small update - So we trial fitted the RacingHart M5 wheels, these are only 8" wide wheels so are we are going to have them re-barrelled, after lots of measurements & lots of calculations we have that all nailed down. Hopefully with the calcs we have done, the 'stance' & 'fitment' will look great. Also managed to source the three correct (and fully working) amps - the casings want a little love & the logo's screen printing after the casings are cleaned up but we can do that. Also a correct steering wheel, although needing a re-trim but again that is fine as we will be needing to re-trim the interior anyway.

raddys
Nice, was just reading through this and noticed appreciating classics was doing it and I recently bought some spats from them so I can only assume it was from your car! Good luck with the build
Peter P
Great start Richard. Liked and subscribed mate. Look forward to seeing the updates as you transform this into something special. Clearly going to be a detailed tribute/replica so looking forward to seeing how you get on. I’m sure you can sell any of the bits you’re not going to use by the way, good luck and keep up the great work.
