TT Intake manifold - onto an N/A

Is this possible?

 

Horse power freaks do one, and so do MVP.

 

Just wondering if they will fit onto the block the same way, I can fabricate some induction piping to a filter on the opposite side.

 

What do you think guys?

 

There is a reason behind all this, just need your input.

TT intake wont fit directly onto head the bolt pattern is different, what has been done in the US is get a tt intake and take some tig welding classes and get busy with the hacksaw, it takes a hell of a lot of chopping and welding but the tt can be welded onto the na runners seen one over on supraforums it looked a mess but worked now you know why they charge big money for a new intake, as to your other question the reason it is done is the throttle is bigger and the intake dosent have to run over the top of the hot engine

We were talking about this at the hampshire meet a couple of nights ago (whilst looking under the bonnet of JohnK's car), I just thought "I wonder if I could cut the runners off the NA intake and weld them onto the TT plenum?"

 

Good to know that its been tried before, at least now I know its possible.

Also worth noting is that the power steering reservoir might need relocating too

well if u know anybody who can make a good job of it then i will be well interested. i think someone in supraforums managed to do. but there was a lot of time and effort put into it. i think the guy produced an adaptor to fit it but there was leaks everywhere.

The NA intake manifold has a two-mode tuning valve in it so you might notice a slight perfornance drop if you put the non-variable TT manifold on.

 

 

I was only thinking of doing this in conjuction with going Na-T with a T67, that way I gain a larger throttle body (for the all important hp increases later), I'd lose the pipes that run over the top of the engine for the reason stated by Bromy and I would be able to keep the strut brace I currently have, plus plumbing in the FMIC would be easier.

 

Looked at the Virtual Works Intake, and athough its a very pretty piece of kit, you have to relocate the battery and I don't want to do that.
