[Help/assistance] JDM Keyless Entry Module Installation

Hi all

I've obtained a Japanese keyless entry module and loom. It comes with 2 jumper harness and a wire tap/splicer which I've shown in the picture below - is anyone able to advise where/which wire you tap this into? (or even what the purpose is).

I've located 1 or 2 blue wires with red stripes in the drivers footwell but they're much thicker than the one that goes into this loom via the tap/splicer.

I've done my research online but can't seem to find anything.

I thinks its a Toyota part from another car

Definitely came out of a JZA80 (seller advised) and the plugs fit JZA80 also. Just that one wire tap (tap looks like other Toyota wire taps) which I don't know where it goes to - need help on this

I think it's an optional dealer addon. I had one in my Supra but I pulled it out because it was ruined and I didn't have fobs for it. Can't remember where that wire went though.

That's right its a dealer option (as opposed to factory option)

Hoping someone with keyless entry on their cars can shed some light as there are quite a few Supras that came with them

I also had this in my japanese supra, still have the box and one key fob chip but the key is in bad shape and I couldn't find a new case for the chip.

It was quite easy to remove because of the way it is spliced in, I will have some pictures of it all somewhere when I removed it. Give me a few days, I will see what I can find.

Thank you! That would be extremely useful. Look forward to your reply

This a Toyota supplied part and was fitted to loads of Supra's.  Not sure it was dealer only, but irrespective it isn't uncommon.

As rider points out the JDM version of this module will only work with the original keys/fob.  Unlike the US cars it can't be reprogrammed to a new key.

There was a company in Australia still selling new units in their original Toyota packaging a year or so ago.

I had several emails to and fro with an Aussie guy that I tracked down off the Aussie forum but it petered out, due to his being a busy body I guess.  These are some of the conversations, I had asked for a UK ship price and quantity discounts and never received a reply. His units were claimed to be Supra plug and play.

Apologies in the delay of reply.

I am not aware of a DENSO unit, did you have a photo of what it looked like ?

The control unit I sell I have had people program new keys to them as Toyota do sell them seperately and a new unit has the key paired.

Pretty hectic schedule at the moment but always do get back to everyone.

You should be able to add an additional key/Fob or the Fob itself ? There is a video online of someone completing it on a chaser and the keys come with the same instructions.
08190-00210 is the part # and is $275 AUD

His email address is [email protected] if anyone want to pick up from where I got to with him.

Have a look at this thread.

Toyota Keyless Entry

One of the images includes a picture of the full kit with loom.  It also has the Toyota part number on it.

There might be some useful info in it for you.

The modules are still available, but they like other supra part are silly money now and only have one key.

Much appreciated! Actually, I came across that thread from my research but unforuntately doesn't help me as I'm after where that specific wire tap goes.

I got my unit from him actually! For some reason, they've gone up from $400AUD to $999AUD now oddly enough.

He says they are plug and play (his response to me also) but I think he's illinformed (or just trying to sell) - it's only plug and play if you have the jumper loom (which you would only have the loom if your car had the keyless entry optioned from dealerships)

I managed to find the loom second hand but without instructions.

What you need is a copy of the instructions that can be seen in that thread for the keyless entry ECU kit.

I wanted to contact the person on the Australian mkiv forum who posted the picture, but I couldn't get access to the Australian Supra site.  I recall they had some residency criteria to join the club.

Surely someone in the club has a car with this loom and can get a picture.  Alternatively there must be someone with a loom out of their car who can provide an image.

Does Keron have anything?

You're right, there is a jumper loom and no button on the side of the box with this module. From memory it is as simple as unplug a connector from your existing wiring, plug the loom which comes with this box into each side of the now unplugged connector and then splice in the last wire or two with those cheater splicer bits (blue in your pic).

I have the whole loom out the car but need to pop to my garage and should also have pictures of it installed.

The jumper loom sits in the drivers side footwell fusebox area and the box under the drivers seat.

Does your keyless module have a button on the side?  If not then you can't pair additional keys.

Apologies - I wasn't able to respond sooner as I had this message; " You have reached the maximum
number of posts you can make per day."

To answer your question, no button on the side so it would seem that it's true that the JDM keyless
option is paired to keys from factory and you can't pair it to additional keys. This isn't a big deal
for me.

There is actually a guy who collects all those options and is located in the UK - he's on Supraforums
and goes by the alias of "oemdude". He also posted on Supraforums AU.

His thread on Supraforums is here - https://www.supraforums.com/threads/what-oem-options-have-you-got-
in-your-supra.702700/page-7

I tried to reach out to him via email in his signature but unfortunately had no reply - he was selling
them (loom and box) at one point from the posts I saw.

P.S. I think SupraForums AU is dead fairly dead compared to here and SupraForums judging by the activity in each sub-forum.

Thank you so much! Look forward to seeing your post. I think it will help many others too who probably have no access to the instructions and/or sell their units to others.
