RastaMc
Hi guys. I am doing a V160 conversion and I found out that my prop shaft is 15mm shorter at the back part of the prop shaft. So I barely reach the flange of the diff. I measured the back part of the propshaft and this one is 66cm. I need one of 68cm. I was wondering is the back part of the propshaft of a Soarer SC400 V8 will fit? This one has a small diff and on the drawings it seems to be identical as the Supra one. Only I don't know the length. Apparently I do have a propshaft of a Big diff, since this one is longer than the small diff. That is the reason why it is 1.5-2cm shorter. I didn't know that. Thank you in advance guys. Cheers, Manuel
rider
Easiest fix would be to insert a 15mm spacer which is essentially just an aluminium disc with the diff flange holes drilled. Its a common fix applied by the landy crowd when they mess around with the set ups. https://cdn.devon4x4.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/363x/040ec09b1e35df139433887a97daa66f/d/a/da6339_situ.jpg Edited October 10, 2022 by rider (see edit history)
RastaMc
Thanks mate. Yes, that will be the simplest solution. I will update this topic with the results of the SC400 propshaft.
evinX
May need to swap the flange on diff to get it to match? If your going to stickna spacer in to fill the gap i assume your going to have alot of vibration and will need balancing
RastaMc
Exactly. Need to check how to do this properly otherwise I will end with a lot of vibration.
Swampy442
What diff is it? What prop are you using?

Apparently I bought a V160 with a Big diff prop shaft (didn't know that) and I have a small diff 3.2 (TT). I measured the prop shafts of my Supra and one with a Big diff and they are the same length. However, the big diff is longer compared to the small diff.
RastaMc
Hi guys. The prop shaft of the Lexus SC400(V8) is to long. It’s about 20cm longer than the oem TT small diff. so I have 3 options: - cut the long SC400 (back part of the prop shaft) to the right length and balance it. - buy an adapter that is 20mm thick specially design for this kind of trouble - buy an other prop shaft for small diff TT V160.
