Biggyinny84
Quick question recently replace thermostat to a lower operating one, should the temperature gauge still read halfway? Because my one is reading only quarter of the way up.
AC93
If operating temp is now lower then it will be lower on the gauge
rider
The thermostat doesn't control the operating temperature, just the temperature at which the thermostat allows water to flow. If you remove a thermostat completely, the engine will just take longer to warm up. If you are questioning the reading then you should look to the sender unit at the base of the radiator or the gauge reading to confirm the current reading is accurate. Ric
I thought the temp gauge was the one in the water neck, One is ECU and one is the gauge.
