auzzam
Hi all, I've tried searching, but have not yet found a definitive answer. I am going to be changing the brake fluid soon and wanted to ask what is the best way to go about this? - my car has ABS if that matters. I know to start from the furthest calliper and work your way back and this worked fine on my MX5. I am just unsure whether the same applies for the supra given some people have mentioned the process may be different as it has ABS. I'm assuming I can bleed all of the callipers with the car switched off - or does it need to be on for the ABS pump to work? My car is a J-Spec with UK front callipers. Thanks in advance! rider
If you are bleeding a system then you need to start at the furthest point from the reservoir and work your way around the car. If you are changing the fluid then I suck out as much of the oil fluid first from the reservoir and then top up to the brim with new fluid and just open each nipple and draw through the fluid until it runs new oil clear in the see through plastic line hooked onto the nipple. I doubt it matters which order when you doing a complete flush but I just do the furthest away starting point out of habit. Its all done car off.
Dnk
We used a Mityvac fluid vacuum when we replaced the calipers and brake lines on my car. Worked well and done very quickly if you have someone topping up the reservoir as you bleed each corner
