Back then they told me it was already sold, but it’s still on their site for sale 12 months later. I’m also looking into the possibility of importing one. Any import companies to avoid? I'd go with the very well known / established ones such as Torque GT or JM Imports but you will be paying a premium to import them as prices are generally higher in japan at the moment. When importing you pay a large chunk up front (usually about 70% once the auctions won) so you want to make sure it's with a company thats trusted

Sorry missed this, no red interior no, it's a facelift black one on autotrader for £25K. The car looks ok and 100% has ABS, which perhaps the High Wycombe one didn't (rear right of engine bay when standing in front should be a square block with brakes lines to and from it - early NA's didn't always have it) Aerotop is next more expensive (they are all over priced in my 2010 pricing brain!) on autotrader and seems clean too. Value for money seems to have disappeared these days but at least that means you can peruse at leisure as very very few people will be in the market for £25K NA's or £45K tt's
Scooter
Perhaps this one and sell the single kit? https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13360157?fbclid=IwAR2oMxanFsM9qbXWIpoEXitSDhMwQMc8RQPAq01cC2KfFG75Neh4ypEkHwQ
Tommyg_5
From what i could tell the guy is stockpiling some of the cars. Keeping lots back to keep the value up and as a long term investment. Only issue is a lot of the cars are just sat there probably just getting worse for not being driven.
Scooter
I find it hard to even comment on these threads as I've seen and purchased/sold NA's in the £2.5-£5K region over the years and so I find it hard to equate to today. Prices back then were exceptional value for money, which was a huge reason to buy a Supra in the first place, now it just feels wrong to me, but if you want one (and that I can understand) then this is the new reality. All you can do is take your time and make the best choice you can, which seems to be what you are doing. Maybe PM some of the owners in this thread?

It's crazy where a lot of cars have gone value wise, to think I paid a smidge over £30k for my first UK auto back in 1995

It just shows how expensive it was when new, and then how almost criminally cheap/unloved they became in a short period of time? I will never forgot the £6,700 JM Imports sales invoice I had in the service history of one of mine. That was for a boggo standard silver RZ auto, so a TT auto from the Japanese auction, with shipping, duty, Vat and Jurgens profit added!?
Tommyg_5
I know I've been looking at them for years. Still wasn't in a place to buy one then and am now. I'm looking at autos now as I'm not shy about working on cars so as long as there is discount from a manual I could do a cd009 etc swap. It will be a long term project for sure
Scooter
Good idea, you want as good a base as possible really and so worth considering all available cars.

It will be a long term project for sure I’m considering the same sort of thing with an auto to manual swap. I’m no mechanic though so would need someone to do it for me. What sort of cost would I be looking at for the full works? Is there a trusted specialist that this group could recommend?
