Is this normal? Oil light comes on with handbrake

My Supra has done this for as long as I’ve had it but for some reason it only started bothering me today… When I put the handbrake on the yellow oil level light always lights up, in addition to the normal handbrake light and the general warning light in the middle of the RPM gauge. There has never been any oil problems- it has the right amount, regular changes and no leaks. Am I right in thinking that’s not normal? And if not, any idea what might cause it? I was happier when it didn’t bother me!

Try checking the wires and connections(including the ones on the actual light) behind that small cluster with lights. Mine had a bad connection and sometimes the yellow oil level light also was appearing, but I've just connected it better and no more issues after that.

Maybe you can try even doing a continuity test to see that they are ok.

Or just remove that bulb lol, who needs it anyway, level sensor is not accurate anyway and you have a dipstick 😅

Thanks for the tips everyone- all good suggestions. I’ll definitely check the connections but have a feeling I’m going to end up just living with it. I do know the sensor works for what it’s supposed to as the front crank seal failed a couple of years back and the yellow light warned me, so I’m not too worried. Just a bit annoying to have a light that shouldn’t be on when using the handbrake!
