SmuleH
Doing an overhaul on my engine now. Aiming for around 800whp max on e85, with multiple maps. Won’t be seeing "full kill" often. Upgrading the rods already, but wondering what I should do about the pistons? The block was in good shape so just needed a rehone and is staying stock bore. The stock pistons are also in a good shape. Good idea to upgrade them or am I fine staying stock pistons with new rings? Don’t want to use more money than really needed. Swampy442
800whp is about 1000 actual hp, so worth bearing that in mind.
Noz
Pistons are cheap. No excuse not to do them with a rod kit. Doing 1000hp on a budget is an odd sentence. Why risk it.
AC93
Get pistons, you'll be kicking yourself if you don't
Mugello
I agree, more so if the engine is in pieces now you will regret not adding pistons.
