FCorps
Hi all, want to buy a new Stereo for the ole girl and was looking for reccomendations that will fit the double slot ideally. What is a current good option out there - Double sized, DAB, links via BT to android phone/apps/googlemaps? Touchscreen would be great. No CD player required. Everything I play is via phone apps/digital these days Thanks!
tayr
SPH-230DAB got it in both my supras and it’s class. Apple car play, dab (separate antenna) and quite a few other features
Bender
I reccomend JVC/Kenwood units (as they use same os) i got JVC Kw-M745dbt and its amazing and fit like it was made for the car. In terms of UI they seems to works better smoother than Pioneer (has one of those too but for some reason dont like it)
raddys
This is what I'm going for paired with focal 100ac fronts and 160ac rears Very expensive but it's got 90s looks with dab and many other connection options Edited February 2, 2022 by raddys (see edit history)
Rob W
Pioneer SPH-230DAB here, looks smart and works spot on with Apple Car play. All touch screen though so can be a-bit hard to see in the rare situation of direct sunlight. I had the older Pioneer version before which was also a great unit. I have heard the Alpine units are decent also, might be worth a look.
Ric
I have an alpine double din. It's only used for carplay as all the processing is done on phone. My only needs are the 3x preouts for front, rear and sub. Never needed dab but you can buy the modules for it. Was wondering how that actualy works - what does the stereo connect into to know that you are reversing?

slugger1
I've got a Kenwood Double Din head unit that's pretty good. I have the DMX7017DABS model but I believe it's now been superseded. It still has Apple CarPlay and inputs for front and reversing cameras though.
