jaymdee
Driving home tonight and suddenly had the battery warning light, engine oil, engine heat (?) and hazard warning lights all come on. Stopped and restarted and still the same so drove home 5 mins figuring it’s the alternator. Battery down to 11.8 volts. Should have tested it before I turned it off. have seen posts suggesting to check earths (where, how?) before buying a new alternator. Getting a lift to work tomorrow but will try a few tests on Friday. So where’s best for an alternator for TT auto? cheers Jon

mattdavies
SRD probably have one on the shelf and will do you an exchange. IT takes 30 mins to swap them so you could be running again by the weekend
TuneR
GS300 fits too and might be more readily available...
Ark
Hello Jon, long time. Similar happened to me last year - battery just wouldn't hold a charge, voltage when running was down in the 11s. When I took the alternator off it was badly corroded, casing cracked... Got a brand new alternator from the local alternator guy for about £200 (I forget exactly), worked a treat. No need for the expensive shiny-shiny if you just want it functional. This guy, if you want to give him a try. https://www.jasm.co.uk/
