Herb
Hi! I was very lucky last year to be able to still get a full set of new seat belts for my Supra. After installation the rear left interior area of the car started to develop a funny and annoying chirping sound. At first I thought that this might come from the old and tired clips holding the interior panel in place, hence, I decided to renew them all. Unfortunately this did not solve my problem. The sound is still there. During a recent trip I realized that the sound stops whenever I hold the belt tight and it locks in place. That is why I came to the conclusion that the new belt might be faulty and that the sound comes from the belt unit itself? Please excuse the crappy video that I took but it gives you an idea of the sound. Has anyone ever had an issue like that or can point me in the correct direction where to look at. I know it is not a major issue but it really gets on you nerves and somehow takes the fun and joy of driving the Supra away. Thank you very much in advance! mplavery
Never had that before and I’ve taken the rear trims out a few times I would take it all back out and install it again making sure no clips were loose I’d also get someone to sit on the back and start putting pressure on various panels to see if it goes
evinX
I use felt tape where panels can move and rub against each other. The dash panels are worst for it. I suffered the rear speaker panels doing it and the rear seatbelt trim. Felt tape on ebay...
