Josh42
I’ve been looking at a slightly newer Q7 myself Dunk. From what I’ve found, they’re pretty solid, with the exception of the usual VAG stuff. I’ll probably make the jump to a 3.0 TDi in the next 6 months

rider
I have heard bad things about the auto gearbox from a higher mileage Q7 owner but that is nothing new or original with ZF boxes of a certain mileage. Happens in all cars that use the ZF particularly 6 gear but also to a lesser extent the 8 speed auto boxes. Although they are factory sealed for life if they have had an oil and filter change at 80k miles they will likely last a lot longer than if they don't. So the word is if you buy a car using a ZF auto transmission change the oil if it approaching or over 80k miles even if the previous owner says its been done. Only costs about £150 in oil, gasket and filter.
Tyson
I'd love to have a hoon around in one of these V12 bad boys https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101208180124

It's usually to late with lots of these boxes, whoever thought sealed for life autobox was a good idea needs a good seeing too

Ric
My missus had a 67 Q5. We recently started having gearbox issues. Almost felt like a wheel spinning judder when pulling away. Swiftly traded in for something else.
Dnk
Back looking at Q7's but can't find anything ticking all the boxes
Dnk
I upped my budget and thought i'd found potentially a Q7 thats ticking a lot of boxes. But just been reading the reviews on autotrader and there's far to many in fact 20% that say stay away from the dealer Oh well lol

I'm realistic and know there will always be some negative but 20% is very poor no matter what its for
